Homemade BBQ and Buffalo Sauces At Home

Homemade BBQ and Buffalo Sauces are much easier to make than you would think!  I’ve been unhappy with store-bought sauces over the years, and decided to try and make my own.  Boy was I surprised at how easy it was, how little time it took, and… that I had most (if not all) of the ingredients already at home.  As I test and perfect additional recipes, I will be sure to add them into this article, so please scroll through and pick out your favorites to make at home!  I’m hoping to have a great selection as time and testing goes along.

Each of these sauce recipes follow the same prep procedure – blend, simmer and bottle up!

Begin by blending ingredients together.  I use a blender and pulse until I feel everything has been incorporated together.  You can use a stick blender/immersion blender, or just whisk together by hand if you don’t have a blending tool.

Once ingredients are well incorporated, put into a pot on the stove and simmer on low for 20-30 minutes.  The taste will change from before simmering, to after… so give it that time to really incorporate the flavors together under some heat!  Remember, you can adjust ALL of these sauce recipes to suit your own personal taste.  If you like it a little spicier, add in a little extra cayenne for example.

We like to bottle ours up and keep it in the fridge so we can use it as we need it.  If you’ll be doing the same, you’ll want to make sure you have a bottle or jar you can pour the sauce into once it’s finished.
